Though his last release, based on the novel ‘Three Mistakes of My Life’ written by Chetan Bhagat, was also in all praised by the critics and viewers. However, we could taste a quite sedate narration but as a sum, it was a great flick to be seen once in a lifetime. But Abhishek’s latest one is called the “Disastrous Of the Year”.

Fitoor is the adaptation of Charles Dicken’s widely sold novel ‘Great Expectations’. The director solo has written its story and screenplay and he failed at both miserably. After finishing the work, he decided to make-up with a producer for his new film’s budget but none of the houses available in the Industry agreed to waste their money on it.

Then, without giving it a second thought, he went to Siddharth Roy Kapoor (owner of UTV Motion Pictures) and read the story to him and convinced him somehow. What could have been best than putting his own brother in the lead role and disturbing his steady career? He signed Aditya Roy Kapoor (the younger brother of Sid) and started working on the movie.

After a month or so, improving its story and screenplay to a not eye-bleeding experience. They decided to shoot out a proposal to Katrina Kaif and she said yes. Now they had a full star cast, what else they needed? A good location and it was Kashmir to begin with.

Throughout the film and in its songs, we could see all the India (through Mumbai to Kashmir), in turn, its production budget came about Rs 70 Crores. The climax was filmed in Poland. And that is not a big number considering its star cast and exotic locations featured in it.

Initially, it got everyone’s’ eyeballs with its trailers and songs, making it one of the anticipated movies of early 2016. Aditya Roy Kapoor and Katrina Kaif appeared on screens for the first time, it also raised expectations in public to see their bonding and chemistry on-screen.

It took an even start at the screens with an occupancy of 40%. Taking in point all the reviews and negative feedback by public, the collections started falling dramatically on successive days.

Rather being a high budget movie and featuring an ensemble cast, it could only collect Rs 22.13 crores in 14 Days or 2 weeks. The movie crew, especially Aditya and Katrina, was stunned by its low-grade performance on the screens.
